New building for Cornell Bowers CIS

 

The new four-story, 135,000 square-foot building will support critically needed growth of the college's innovative, cross-disciplinary research and teaching, and will bring together the departments of Computer Science, Information Science, and Statistics and Data Science in one complex. 

Located south of Gates Hall, the building will provide new instructional and research spaces — including robotics, builder, and research labs, a design studio, and a large active learning classroom — as well as office space and a variety of meeting and informal study spaces.

Architectural Renderings

Located south of Gates Hall, the building will provide instructional and research spaces — including robotic labs, active learning classrooms, and design studios — as well as office space and a variety of meeting and study spaces to support the college’s rapidly growing computing and information science community.

Groundbreaking celebration

Researchers in the Cornell Ann. S Bowers College of Computing and Information Science are no strangers to groundbreaking work, and on Oct. 14, 2022 members of the college participated in a different type of groundbreaking: a celebration of the new CIS building complex.
